Minutes from last meeting: August 30, 2007
Treasurer's Report: 
    • The bank account balance is currently $341.
    • Pack 66 Hats will be purchased and sold to new members for $15 each to cover cost of purchase.
    • New member application checks will require deposit and one check to Narragansett Council will be cut to cover all new members and leaders.

Training: (See the Leaders Resources page)

  • Cub Rally Training was completed by Committee Chair.
  • Den Leaders must complete Youth Protection Online, New Leaders Essentials and Cub Specific Training.   Each year a new Cub Specific Training is required: Tiger Leader, Cub (Wolf/Bear) Leader, Webelos Leader, Outdoor Webelos Leader, Cubmaster/Chairperson.  See Pack 66 Cubmaster for dates and times of up coming classes. 
  • POW WOW: Pack 66 leaders will be attending the training conference in November.  Last year leaders took courses in den meeting organization, ceremonies, skits/songs/cheers, science wizardry, simple games, unit commissioner training, and others.  All thought it was an excellent training opportunity and learned a great deal. 

Fund Raising - Popcorn:

  • Sell dates will be set @ Belmonts and at Shaws.  See Popcorn page for more details.  Everyone is asked to sign up for at least one 2-hour shift.  Cubs must wear UNIFORMS.
  • Popcorn home orders will be handed out at September Pack Meeting.  
  • Gifts for scouts that sell at the store & home and for those who sell at dollar levels.
  • As can be seen in the minutes, last year's proceeds were put to good use. 

Program:

  • Lots of events are planned for this upcoming year.  May of which are Narragansett Council sponsored.  Parents can register on-line directly.
  • Given we have repeated the same events for the past few years, we will be pushing different events to spice it up a bit.  There is the Children's Museum Sleepover, Corn Maze hike, URI Basketball Game, Campout at Aquapaug in October, etc.
  • A trip to a Carpenter's Corn Maze will be scheduled for October 13th.
  • Fall Service Project: Potter Woods Skating Pond Cleanup - Sat, Nov 10.

Membership

  • Cub Rallies Fri, Sep 14 @ PDES and WKES.  We need a couple more parents to help welcome new members. 
  • More members are always welcome.

Awards Committee:

  • Den Leaders to email Bill and Bob C their awards one week prior to the Pack meeting.  Information is being entered into a database by Jill B. 
  • All are encouraged to review the website Advancements page for other awards that are available (World Conservation, Leave No Trace, Religious Medals, etc.)

District Round Table Meeting:

  • Schedule will be coming soon.  Den Leaders expected to rotate to meetings.
  • RTMs meet normally on the 2nd Monday of the month at 7PM at the Wakefield Baptist Church.  District & Council info is passed to Packs and Troops.  A special Cub Leader meeting is held each month to help leaders plan their pack & den meetings.

Events and Outings:    

  • Corn Maze: Bill N. to organize a trip October 13 for Pack. 

  • EMS/EMT demonstration at September Pack Meeting: Bill will arrange for a visit from the SK paramedics.

Other Business:

  • Pack Policies: Den Leaders to print out Pack Policies from website, review them with parents, and have parents sign the copy.  Parents must stay at Pack Meeting.  Pack leaders cannot be responsible for the whereabouts of all its members during the Pack meeting.
