Wood Badge provides advanced training for scouters to learn principles of leadership
and team building. In 2006, the Wood Badge candidates must attend a September 8-10 and Octover 7-9 weekend campouts.
See the following address for more info: http://www.doubleknot.com/Registration/CalendarDetail.asp?ActivityKey=122991&OrgKey=1244
In September 1919 Baden-Powell, the founder of the Scouting movement, held
the first Scoutmaster’s leadership development course. He realized that
for the movement to flourish, leaders must be trained to carry on the ideals and methods of Scouting.
The purpose of Wood Badge is
simple. It gives men and women the knowledge and skills necessary to strengthen the Scouting units that they serve. It provides
dedicated scouters with the concepts, tools and methods needed to be effective leaders and it creates a structured opportunity to develop and apply these
skills.
During two weekends you will
learn and apply the principles of leadership using the skills
and methods of Scouting. You will be living and working in the outdoors with fellow scouters under the guidance of a troop
guide and friend. You will experience Scouting as seen through the eyes of youth. By
the time the weekends are over you will have set some goals for yourself. Goals of your own choosing. Goals that will
strengthen Scouting in your unit or community. For about one year you will work toward these goals. By putting your new knowledge
and skills to work you can become a truly effective leader. From your example, others will follow.
ASSEGAI (Train the Trainer)

latest principles, methods & techniques in delivering ideas and skills. Learn how to be an effective presenter by
